Magic resize: one video, every shape

A landscape interview cut to 9:16 usually crops the speaker out half the time. Magic resize changes the shape and then reframes every clip with AI, panning the crop to follow the person — so one edit becomes a YouTube video, a Reel and a square post in minutes.

How to resize a video

  1. Finish your edit in its original shape.
  2. Open the Canvas tab and, under Magic resize, pick a shape: 9:16 Reels / Shorts, 1:1 Square, 4:5 Feed or 16:9 YouTube. (Also on the preview's right-click menu.)
  3. Wait for the reframe. The canvas switches to Fill, and each video clip is analysed and given a crop that follows the person.
  4. Check text and export. Titles may need a nudge for the new shape; the alignment guides (# button) help centre them.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to clips without a person?

They're cropped from the centre. You can move the framing yourself with position keyframes in the Clip tab.

Can I go back to the original shape?

Yes — undo, or choose Original in the Canvas tab's aspect ratios. Your clips aren't altered.

Is it the same as Smart reframe?

Magic resize runs Smart reframe on every clip at once, after setting the shape and Fill for you. Smart reframe on its own (Clip tab) does one clip.
