Privacy Policy

1. Your media and the editor

When you add videos, photos or audio to the VDOAPP editor, they are loaded directly into your web browser. Previewing, applying effects, recording voiceovers and exporting all happen on your device using your browser's built-in technology. Your files and recordings are not uploaded to our servers or to any third party, and we have no access to them.

Your project exists only in your browser tab while you work. When you close or reload the tab, it's gone, so save your exported videos to your device.

2. Microphone access

If you choose to record a voiceover, your browser will ask for permission to use your microphone. Audio is recorded and kept locally in your browser for your project. It is never sent to us. You can withdraw microphone permission at any time in your browser's site settings.

3. Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, when you visit vdoapp.com some technical information is processed automatically:

• Server logs. Our hosting provider may record standard request information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time, for security and to keep the site running.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site, as described below.

We don't use this information to identify you personally, and we don't sell it.

4. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC ("Google"), to learn how people find and use our site — for example which pages and guides are visited, how long visits last, and what type of device and browser are used. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies, and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from your IP address), device and browser details and interactions with the site. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

We only use this information in aggregate to improve VDOAPP. Nothing about the content of your videos is ever sent to Google Analytics, because that content never leaves your browser.

You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across websites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

5. Advertising (Google AdSense)

To keep VDOAPP free, we may display advertisements on our website pages, such as our guides. We do not show ads inside the editor while you work, and nothing is ever added to your videos. Ads are provided by Google AdSense. In particular:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info, or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
• If you opt out of personalised advertising, you may still see ads, but they won't be personalised based on your browsing.

6. Cookies and your consent

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Our own site code doesn't set cookies for the editor to work. Cookies are set by Google Analytics and, where ads are shown, by Google and its advertising partners, as described above.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: analytics and advertising cookies are switched off by default and are only used if you give consent through the consent message shown on our site. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the privacy settings link provided by that message, or by clearing cookies for vdoapp.com in your browser.

Everyone can also block or delete cookies in their browser settings. Blocking cookies won't stop the editor from working.

7. Other third-party services

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google receives your IP address and browser information as part of the request. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct or delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to data portability. Residents of some US states, including California, have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising — which you can do using the Google Ads Settings and industry opt-out links above.

Because we don't hold accounts or your media, most information about your visit is held by our service providers (such as Google) under their own policies. To make a request or ask a question, contact us at hello@vdoapp.com. If you're in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children

VDOAPP is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security and retention

Our site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Because your media stays on your device, it is never at risk on our servers. Analytics data is kept in line with the retention settings of our Google Analytics account, and server logs are kept only as long as our hosting provider needs them for security and operations.

11. International transfers

Our service providers, including Google, may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our site or the law changes. We'll post the updated version on this page and change the effective date at the top.
