How to blur faces
- Add the video and select the clip.
- Open the AI tab and, under Faces in AI effects · selected clip, tick Blur faces.
- Scrub through the whole clip. Check every face is covered, especially small faces far away and people turning side-on.
- Export. The pixelation is burned into the exported video.

Checklist before you publish
- Faces the detector can miss: very small or distant faces, faces in profile or looking down, faces in deep shadow, and people partly hidden behind others. Cover these with a sticker or a blurred PiP rectangle.
- Things that identify people besides faces: name badges, school uniforms, house numbers, number plates and reflections in windows.
- Sound: names spoken aloud identify people as surely as faces. Mute or cut those moments.
Tip: for a number plate or a document, add a sticker or a shape overlay in the Sticker or PiP tab and use keyframes so it follows the object.
Frequently asked questions
Can I blur only one person's face?
Blur faces covers every detected face in the selected clip. To hide just one person, split the clip around the moments they appear, or cover their face with a sticker that you animate with keyframes.
Does it blur number plates?
No — it detects faces only. Cover plates with a sticker or shape overlay.
Is it guaranteed to catch every face?
No automatic detector is perfect. Always review the whole clip before publishing, especially when privacy really matters.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Face detection runs in your browser, on your device.
